Two-Factor Authentication for the Soul

I have a lot of gut feelings. They don’t usually arrive after a long, logical brainstorming session; they just drop into my lap out of nowhere, completely at random.

For the longest time, I wondered what that was all about. If you ask a scientist, they’ll tell you all about the “second brain” in your stomach and how nerve pathways send lightning-fast signals to your head. And sure, there’s a biological breakdown for everything. God built our bodies to be incredibly smart machinery.

But honestly? I think the science is just the hardware. I think gut feelings are how God communicates with His kids.

Think about it. The brain in our head is noisy. It’s full of overthinking, worry, doubt, and everyone else’s opinions. If a higher power tried to send a message through all that mental clutter, it would get drowned out in a second. We’d analyze it to death, make a pros-and-cons list, and talk ourselves out of it.

But the gut? The gut doesn’t rationalize. It just knows. It bypasses all the noise and hits you right in your core. It’s the one place He can get through to us without our brains getting in the way. He made us, right? It makes perfect sense that He’d build in a direct line.

And sometimes, He doesn’t just whisper from the inside. He gives you an unmistakable sign on the outside, too.

When people ask why I walked away, the “acceptable” answer would be to say I just had a gut feeling. But that’s pretty lackluster compared to the truth. The truth is, 11:11 is the reason I finally had the courage to walk away from a stress-free income. It was a cosmic green light, a literal wake-up call flashing right in front of me saying, Pay attention. Step out in faith.

When you get that sudden, undeniable hit in your gut, paired with a sign you can’t ignore, it’s like a two-factor authentication system for your soul. It’s God saying, I’ve got you. Now move.

Gut feelings are never to be ignored. They aren’t random glitches in your day; they are directions from the one who designed you. You just have to be willing to trust the nudge, look for the signs, and take the leap.
